Right and Wrong

This is a group of twelve Imaginary Beings to reflect on the complex dynamics of living with one’s sexuality. What are the new gender-specific or gender-less social norms? How much can be expressed safely? I chose a simple T-shirt to be the unifying visual element in this series. Since the 1970s, the graphic tee has come to signify identity, allegiance and protest. It is used as a promotional tool, a form of advocacy, and an affirmation of freedom. I photographed my friends in t-shirts that were lettered with various phrases, then collaged the cutouts with photographs of sculptures, various objects, magazine clippings and graffiti walls.

How these works may look on a wall.
