Twice Told Tales

Complex women are my greatest muse. When I started to hang out with Vivienne (mostly going to see live music with friends), I found myself secretly collecting reference images for working together … eventually. The inspiration for our first collaboration was fueled by Francesca Woodman’s exhibit at Denver’s Museum of Contemporary Art. I walked through the entire show thinking: “Vivienne would play like this!” To only learn later that she has a deep connection to the Woodman family’s artistic history as she modeled for George Woodman for years and has a beautiful collection of his double exposure darkroom photographs. Marinating in this spirit, I created six multi-exposure-like images with a contemporary flare, centered around simple, natural-light photographs taken at her home.
