Explorer

This work has been a long time fan-favorite when seen as a 60” x 48” dye-sublimation fine print. The origin of Explorer comes from the 2018 Burning Man — I Robot — that focused on the many forms of artificial intelligence that already permeate our lives. The base of this layered image is of a driftwood beast, greeting the world with an open heart. It has this “back-to-basics” frequency that captures our desire for openness, simplicity, and resourcefulness. I also included robot details made of mechanical debris and steel. They point to our rapid integration of machines and computing intelligence. I included the astronaut helmet to symbolize a pioneering spirt, and an exuberant young man (in the background) to embed an energy of youth and vitality. This Explorer is an Energy Being who activates openness, inclusion, responsibility, self-reliance, resourcefulness, collaboration and belief.”
